lyrics

Steel blue hazes rise over the cold Pennsylvania skyline, I
I see you when I close my eyes
Is this a new beginning or a swift return to what I've always known
My ancestral home---

Come all ye lovers tender and wise
Mince not your heartsong for fear of reprisal
Come all ye maidens loving in disguise
Sell not your life for common price F#

St. Sebastian did not die, though 20 arrows pierced his side
And a woman good and kind tended his wounds in the night
And though the dawn brought his demise
"Go on, kill me a thousand times," to his persecutors he cried:
"She is the way, the Truth, and the Life."

Thirty three years a pilgrim, I raised my glass to please him
A bitter draught once pleased my tongue
But in my secret chambers Unholy hungers
As pure as the Lamb's ear, or the rising sun-----

Come all ye maidens tender and fair
Come to the garden beyond all despairing
Come all ye lovers, love while ye may
The blossoms of passion are doomed to fade away-----

St. Sebastian did not die, though to a myrtle tree was tied
Until beloved arms he spied, and unbound his heart in the night
And though the Truth may kill me, only the Truth can set me free
So before all the world I cry, she is the Way the Truth and the Life
